Nikki Finke was an American blogger, journalist, publisher, and writer who was one of the prominent writers. Nikki was famous for her tenacious style of reporting and saucy entertainment scoops about celebrities in Hollywood.

Nikki reported the writer strikes between 2007 – 2008 and left PMC in Nov. 2013, and began her entertainment news site, NikkiFinke.com., an online version of her LA Weekly column in 2016. In 2015 she launched Hollywood Dementia. Nikki published its last story in 2019, with Finke then returning to PMC in 2017 as a consultant.

Nikki was born and grew up in Sands Point on Long Island. She graduated from Wellesley College and was the editor-in-chief of the school newspaper.

How did Nikki Finke Die?

Nikki Finke entertainment reporter passed away on Sunday morning after a prolonged illness on 9 August 2022. She was 68 years old at the time of her death. Nikki grew up in Sands Point on Long Island. Her family worked on such publications including Associated Press, Newsweek, the Los Angeles Times, the New York Observer, and then New York Magazine. She left her home due to her lifelong battle with diabetes.

Jay Penske, Founder, chairman, and CEO of the Penske Media Corporation said on her death:-

“At her best, Nikki Finke embodied the spirit of journalism and was never afraid to tell the hard truths with an incisive style and an enigmatic spark.

“She was brash and true. It was never easy with Nikki, but she will always remain one of the most memorable people in my life.”

 

Nikki Finke was survived by her sister, Terry Finke Dreyfus, and her brother-in-law James.
