Asad Rauf one of Pakistan’s most prominent umpires passed away on 15 September 2022. Rauf died due to sudden cardiac arrest and lost his life at the age of 66 years. Asad died in Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan. Rauf represented Pakistan Universities, Lahore, National Bank of Pakistan, and Pakistan Railways and played domestic cricket between 1977 and 1991.

Asad Rauf was investigated as the “wanted accused” by the Mumbai police into the IPL spot-fixing scandal. Rauf left India before the end of that IPL season and he had been umpiring.
